DDGolfTrak is a Palm OS application that allows you to simply, and easily, track your round history, analyze scoring statistics, and calculate a handicap.
v1.3 (7/9/01) - 1) added the capability to record the price, location, and a note for courses; 2) added the capability to exclude rounds from the handicap calculation; 3) provides a field on the Edit Round screen to enter in the value to be used in the handicap calculation for the round; 4) removed the automatic calculation of a round differential for handicap calculation (this was done to comply with USGA copyright restrictions on the use of course slope and rating in the calculation of a handicap).
The Main Screen shows the list of rounds (both 9-hole and 18-hole rounds) in chronological order with the most recent at the top. Tapping on a round in the list brings up the Edit Round screen. The total number of rounds is shown in the upper right-hand corner. New rounds can be added by tapping the New button. The Stats button brings up the Stats screen and the Handicap button brings up the Handicap screen.
The Edit Round screen provides the capability to view and edit details fo the round. This screen also provides options for entering new rounds and deleting existing rounds.
* Front: Front 9 total strokes
* Back: Back 9 total strokes
* Control Strokes: USGA Equitable Stroke Control
* Diff.: User-defined differential to be used in the handicap calculation. For example, this field could be used to enter in a differential using the USGA Handicap Method.
* Include Diff. in Hdcp: Indicates whether the Diff. value entered should be used on the handicap calculation screen.
* GIR: Greens hit in regulation
* Putts: Total putts for the round
* Fairways: Number of non-par 3 fairways on the course (leave this field blank or set to 0 to not include fairway statistics for a round)
* Fairways Hit: Number of fairways hit on first shot of th hole
The Course List screen is accessed by tapping the Courses button on the Main Screen. This screen displays all of the course and tees combination defined in alphabetical order. Tapping on a course in the list brings up the Edit Course screen. New courses can be added by tapping the New button.
The Edit Course screen provides the capability to edit the parameters of the course and to record course-related information such as price and location.
The Stats screen provides the capability to compare round statistics between two time periods and for a selected course. The time periods selectable are: This Year, Last Year, Last 20 Rounds, and All Rounds.
* Avg. (18) - Average score on 18-hole rounds
* Avg. (9) - Average score on 9-hole rounds
* Putts/Hole - Average putts per hole on rounds where putt total was entered
* GIR % - Percentage of greens hit in regulation
* Fairways % - Percentage of fairways hit for rounds where fairway data is entered
* Avg. Diff. - Average handicap differential for rounds where the "Include" checkbox is checked
* vs. Par - Average number of strokes above (or below) par
* Rounds (18) - Total number of 18-hole rounds used int eh stats calculations
The Handicap screen calculates and displays your current handicap index based upon the values entered into the "Diff." field on the Edit Round screen. Only rounds that have the "Include" checkobox checked are used. Rounds included in the handicap index are indicated by an asterisk next to the round differential.
